Privacy Policy

The short version

Kinetic Reader does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on any server. Everything you read, every setting you change, and every bookmark you place stays on your device and nowhere else.

What we collect

Nothing. Kinetic Reader has no user accounts, no analytics, no crash-reporting services, and no advertising SDKs. The app does not know who you are, what you read, or how you use it.

Local storage

Your reading session, position, bookmarks, and settings are stored locally on your device using the platform's standard on-device preferences storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to move it yourself (for example, by backing up your phone to iCloud or Google Drive — see below).

Files you import

When you load a file into Kinetic Reader — whether an EPUB, PDF, DOCX, or any other supported format — the app reads the file locally on your device. No copy of that file is sent to any server, and the extracted text is stored only in on-device preferences for your current session.

Network connections

Kinetic Reader is a paid app sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The initial purchase is handled by the platform's own payment system. Bair Development does not receive or store your payment information.

Under normal use — reading text, adjusting settings, using bookmarks — the app makes no network requests at all.

Platform backups (iCloud / Google Drive)

If you have iCloud Backup (iOS) or Google Drive Backup (Android) enabled on your device, your phone's operating system may include the app's local data in its routine device backup. This is controlled entirely by your device settings and is not something Kinetic Reader initiates or controls. Refer to Apple's or Google's own privacy policies if you have questions about their backup services.

Children

Kinetic Reader is a general-purpose reading tool and is not directed specifically at children under the age of 13. The app collects no personal information from any user, regardless of age.

Third-party services

Kinetic Reader does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or social platforms. The only third-party involvement is the Apple App Store or Google Play payment system used to purchase the app.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Because the app collects no data, any changes are likely to reflect new features rather than changes to data handling practices.
