🛡️ Privacy Policy

Your data belongs to you.
Full stop.

1 Information We Collect

The short answer: nothing that leaves your device.

QuickNotes Recall does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information on any server operated by Bair Development LLC or any third party.

The only data that exists in connection with QuickNotes Recall is the data you voluntarily enter into the app — the names, notes, vocabulary, facts, and other cards you create for yourself. This data is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device and is never transmitted over the internet.

We do not collect:

2 How Your Data Is Stored

All content you create in QuickNotes Recall — cards, categories, tags, review history, and settings — is persisted in a local SQLite database managed by the Drift library for Flutter. This file resides within the app's private sandbox on your device's file system.

Your app settings (such as notification preferences, session caps, and display options) are stored using the device's standard SharedPreferences mechanism, also entirely local.

💡
What this means for you

If you delete the app, all associated data is removed with it. Your data is only as secure as your device itself — we recommend using your device's built-in lock screen and encryption features. You can also export a JSON backup from within the app at any time.

3 Data We Never Share

Because we do not collect your data, we cannot share, sell, rent, or disclose it to anyone — including:

There are no circumstances under which your personal data is transmitted from your device to Bair Development LLC.

4 Third-Party Services

QuickNotes Recall does not integrate any third-party SDKs that collect user data. The app does not contain:

The only network interaction the app may make is loading fonts from Google Fonts during the initial build process — this is a development-time dependency and is not present at runtime in the distributed app binary.

Distribution through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store is subject to Apple's and Google's own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies separately.

5 Children's Privacy

QuickNotes Recall is a general-purpose learning tool suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal data whatsoever, there is no special risk posed to children using the app.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since no data ever leaves the device, the app is compliant with COPPA, GDPR-K, and equivalent regulations by design.

6 Backup & Export

QuickNotes Recall includes a built-in JSON backup and restore feature. When you export a backup, a JSON file is created on your device and can be saved wherever you choose — to your local file system, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or any other location you control.

📤
You control your backup files

When you share or store a backup file using a third-party service (such as iCloud or Google Drive), the privacy of that file is governed by the terms of that service. Bair Development LLC has no access to files you store elsewhere.

Backup files are plain JSON and are not encrypted by default. We recommend storing them in a location protected by your device or cloud provider's security features if the content is sensitive to you.

7 Device Permissions

QuickNotes Recall may request the following device permissions. Each is optional and used solely as described:

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's Settings. Revoking notifications will simply stop reminder alerts; revoking file access will disable import/export features.

8 Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Because we do not collect your contact information, we cannot notify you directly — we encourage you to check this page periodically if you have questions.

Any future change that involves collecting data will require a clearly updated policy and, if required by law, your explicit consent before such collection begins.

🤝
Our commitment to you

We will never introduce data collection, advertising, or tracking into QuickNotes Recall without giving users clear advance notice and a genuine choice.
